If I  tap the face of my Charge 4 it would normally show time but now I have to push the sides in. Is there an adjustment I can do to make it work by tapping the face?

You probably have 'Screen Wake' turned off.  If not you might be in Sleep Mode.

Both are found in Quick Settings.
