Time doesn't update on a new timezone.

Seems to have started immediately after an update.  My charge 2 no longer displays correct time when changing time zones.  In the past it always did when synced.  I tried restarting the phone.  I don't know if there is a way to reboot the charge 2.  I travel a lot so please help.

Hello @big_jim thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. Tell me, are you using an iPhone or an Android phone? Is this the first time you've experienced this situation?

At this moment, please restart your Charge 2 and sync it again. If the timezone doesn't update, let us know so we can check this further, we'll be happy to help.

I'm using an Android, a Galaxy 8+. How do you restart the fitbit?

Hello @big_jim I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply with the information provided.

In order to restart your Charge 2 you can click on the link provided earlier to get the instructions. However, I would like to share them with you as well:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your Charge 2 will begin charging.
  4. Press and hold the button on your tracker for four seconds. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.

After restarting your Charge 2, please sync it again with your phone as it's a compatible device and let us know the outcome. Have a great day!

That didn't help. I have returned home so I won't be in a different time
zone again for about a month. I'll try again then.

Hello @big_jim I hope you're having a great day, thanks for taking the time to reply.

I appreciate you have come back after trying the troubleshooting steps provided earlier. At this moment, my best recommendation will be setting up your Charge 2 as a new device to reset the connection between the device and your phone. Note that all the information already stored in your account will not be deleted as the data gets stored in our servers and not in your phone or your device.

To set up your Charge 2 as a new device:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  4. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  5. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

Thanks for your patience, give these steps a try and keep us updated, we'll be happy to continue assisting you.

Deleting and re-pairing my fit bit Charge 2.....finally worked for me after having the wrong time forever! I hope it also auto-corrects when I change time zones!
