I've just got a charge 2 and have linked it with Strava. I went for a run today for the first time and tracked it on the charge 2 (not using the fitbit app).
Once I finished the fitbit app is showing two activities for the run. One with the current distance and heart rate and a second with the heartrate (minus graphh) distance slightly off and inaccurate map.
What gets automatically uploaded to Strava is the second along with the average heart rate.
My questions:
1. Why is the fitbit app showing two different activities for the same run?
2. Why is fitbit not accurately mapping my run? (all the bluetooth and gps settings are as advised)
3. If I use the app to track my run instead of starting the tracking on the watch, would I still be able to check the distance in realtime on the watch? (I definitely want to be able to do this)
Any help appreciated, I haven't been able to find answers to these questions so far.

1: By any chance did you also track your run with your strava app @Onthe1
2: What is not accurate about the map?
3: If you track with the Fitbit App, your real time data will be on the app. Also the heart rate will not be added to the run.

Hi @Rich_Laue
Thanks for replying:
1. yes I did, would that have affected things?
2. the route (though it doesn't show it against an actual map) so i'm going on the shape which I know.
3. Oh that's really useful to know, so if I track my run using the app I can't track on on the watch and have the heart rate data with it. That's a shame.

1: yes Fitbit recorded your run, then reached out and added the run recorded by strava. Resulting in two recordings.
2: does your map have any straight lines?
3: using the app to record your run is designed for when the Charge 2 is not on the arm. The app will ignore all the data, including steps, from the tracker.
The steps recorded by the tracker will be added to the daily step count.
The app is also useful for the older trackers that are unable to track a walk with GPS. With a few trackers not having the option to manually start a run the app is also helpfull

1. ah some confusion here: the fitbit app recorded two activities on its own. The strava app recorded its own run. The strava map was accurate, the Fitbit map wasn't. However the heartrate activity recorded the right distance the fitbit map didn't.
2. yes some.

Onthe1. I’m not sure what Strava is but this might help. When I jog/walk I use both my iPhone and Fitbit tracker. So I do get 2 routes showing n 2 sets of data; similar data but a bit different. What I did to find out which was more accurate was to run 4 laps at the local high school out door track, 4 x 440 yards or 4 x 400 meters and found my Fitbit to be more accurate than my iPhone in charting distance...hence pace as well. Enjoy the journey!

That's interesting. Thanks!

@JR86 if you are using the Fitbit app to record a run, then you should see a map of the run but no heart rate in the report.
Using the tracker to record the run will have a heart rate and a GPS map of gps was able to connect.
Strava is a third party popular app.
Fitbit says that it will automatically detect a users stride during a run. With a correct stride, distance becomes accurate.

So I did a run for the second time using the charge 2 and phone and the mapping worked perfectly this time. The only thing different was that I kept the wifi enabled, I don't know if that was what made a difference but hopefully it'll work from now on.

Wifi on the phone should not have made a difference. I'm not sure what the issue is, first post 2 recordings are showing.
Strava is mentioned, but I'm not sure if Strava is connected to fitbit.
You now say GPS worked fine this time. I didn't know that there was a GPS issue.
Sorry but I'm simply getting more confused on what might be happening and what you see.
