My Charge 3 will no longer sync. I have rebooted both phone and device several times. The date is off by about 2 weeks and the time is also wrong. This may be because in the process of moving the device battery died and I wasn't able to recharge until recently.
Says version is up to date. It does seem to pick up some data but I am not sure if it is correct.

Hi @MrsT2020, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums.
Thank you for sharing this information about the trouble you've been having with your Charge 3. As you mentioned earlier, the time could be wrong because the battery ran out and the device was turned off for a while.
Before considering other options, could you please confirm if you already tried all the steps listed here to resolve syncing problems?
In addition, please make sure to check if the mobile device you're using is listed here as a compatible device and to keep the Fitbit app updated to the latest version available.
Hope this helps.

why would she need to check for phone compatibility if it will no longer sync, meaning that up until this point it was syncing to the phone. Nowhere is it indicated that a new phone was purchased.

Welcome to the Community forums @SunsetRunner.
Many users are able to sync their data using a phone than has not traditionally been listed as compatible, but they tend to present syncing problems with software and firmware updates. They list has been recently updated to include the models that present more difficulties in particular or the ones that are not compatible with Fitbit.
Have a nice day.
