Previously if I clicked through to my resting heart rate it gave me a range of 52-55(ish) as an estimate of my VO2 max. However, this morning the screen has changed, it only gives me a point estimate (rather than a range) and that has dropped to 46.
Has anyone else come across this? I haven't changed anything I've been doing on the app recently (e.g. I haven't updated my weight or anything) and my resting heart rate is fairly static.
Thank you in advance.

Did you just do a run with GPS? That can set a precise value, rather than just an estimated range.
Thanks so much for the swift and insightful reply.
Whilst I didn't actually go for a run my exercise selections had gone a bit haywire that morning (i.e. my personalised selections had been replaced by the standard set) and therefore when I took the dogs out I chose run rather than the usual walk. So that will have been the reason. And also helps rationalise why the VO2 max dropped so much, as the walk will have been very stop start. I deleted the 'run' out of my exercise log and all returned to normal.
Thanks again for your help and I hope you have a great Friday.
I had the same thing happen as I was getting a VO2 max of 48-52 and after a walk it said my VO2 max as 45. I get the answer you provided - but that algorithm doesn't really make sense to me as VO2 Max is generally based on max effort, not pulse during a walk or run
