Why can't I update age, height, weight?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When I go to the "personal" section, all of these fields say "nothing to show"  When I try to update using the scroll inputs and then try to save, it just says to enter a "valid" figure for one of the other characteristics.  I have no idea what values are being used to calculate my results shown

Hi, @SunsetRunner, it sounds like you are trying to do this update on your web based dashboard (i.e. not on the phone app?)

On the personal settings it will not allow you to save any changes if it detects an error on the page.  In this case one of the boxes will have a red message showing the error.

You should be able to change age, height, weight on your app (Windows 10/ phone / tablet if you use those.

If this doesn't solve your issue, please post again giving us a little more information about whether you are using phone (which one?) or web-based dashboard settings.  There is always someone here to help, but as much information has you can give will help someone to find a solution for you.

I am attempting to input height, weight, bday, sex in the Fitbit App on my I-Phone 8 w/ ios11.
In the "personal" area, all categories show "Nothing to show"
When I click on any area (eg. height), I use the scrolls & find the appropriate "feet & inches" values & when I click on "save", an info box shows up telling me to enter a valid amount in one of the other areas (eg. birthday), but it won't save the inputted info in ANY area.
It always reverts to "Nothing to show" in all areas.
Thanks for your efforts to help, as I have tried this probably 20 times, have deleted the device & re-paired it , re-booted it, etc. etc. and the same thing happens every time.
Any ideas?

Hi, @SunsetRunner, this is what you would see (nothing to show) if you went to the personal section for one of your friends, or if you were looking at a child account.

To update your own info on your iOS app, I would recommend logging out of the app.  Next log back in using the email and password you chose when you set up your Fitbit account.  Make sure you choose "log in to Fitbit" and not "join Fitbit"

On the first screen click on the Account icon, top eight.  The icon is meant to look like an ID card -- a small rectangle with a circle and 3 lines.

When the account screen opens the first item will be your name and "View your profile". Choose that.  On the next screen select Personal, and you should have your details there and be able to update them.

If you have followed all these steps and you are still seeing "nothing to show" please post again.  If possible, could you include a screen shot of what you are seeing?  That could help to get to the bottom of it.

Thank you very much for all your suggestions.
Unfortunately, I have done all of this several times and carefully followed all the instructions from the fitbit "help" section.
I have also deleted and re-installed the App on my phone, re-booted the device itself, etc. etc.  All of this multiple times.
In the "Personal" area of the profile page, the "Nothing to show" shows up in the following areas:
Display NameBirthdaySexHeight
And anytime I input, check, or select any values to input and attempt to save, a "box" shows up asking me to input a "valid value" in one of the other 4 areas.  When I go to another area, nothing is saved & the "Nothing to show" remains.
The tracker itself works fine, but I have NO IDEA what values are being used by the algorithms to calculate results like steps, calories.
Thanks again for your help, but I think I'll just give up and assume the tracker is just giving me some "order of magnitude" answers.

I tried to update my information by logging in to this link https://www.fitbit.com/settings/profile

and it works.
