Zone dashboards do not reflect documentation

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The heart rate zone documentation says they are now using a new formula which includes  your heart rate reserve and resting heart rate.  The dashboard for my zones are still the same, but when I manually calulate it using  the formula, my zones should all be at least 13 beats a minute faster.

I did try updating the application, but no difference.

What do you mean by "dashboard "? If you are talking about fitbit.com dashboard, that has not changed in years, and is still using the old heart rate zones and Active Minutes instead of (Active) Zone Minutes.  But if you look at the more current phone app, it is up to date. Tap on the Zone Minutes circle near the top, and you will see the updated zones, and they are used in all the Zone Minutes calculations.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I am viewing my active zone minutes on  new android phone.  Under the  amount of minutes,  it tells you what your heart rates zones are.  My Fat burn BPM is  95 to 115.   Using their new formula,  mine should be  117  to 127.

I think I found my problem.  I had assumed that fitbit was using the  same percentages for fat burn as any of the articles I found on the internet were.  On the sites I used,  fat burning is 60 to 70  percent of your HR reserve plus your resting heart rate.  Fitbit is using 40 to 59 percent.  In zone training articles I have read  Fat burning should be  Zone 2.  (60 to 70 percent).
