I just got a Charge 3 Fitbit to wear in the swimming pool when I exercise.  I can manually add "water jogging and get all the physical parameters (HR, calories burned, etc,), but I cannot set my Fitbit to auto-recognize as an exercise.

How do I set 'water jogging' as an 'auto recognized  exercise' on my phone  with the other exercises that I can choose as exercises (like walk, run, outdoor bike, elliptical, etc)?

You cannot add to the auto-recognized list.  That is limited to what Fitbit thinks they can recognize, and distinguish, just from your wrist's motions.

You could use the Exercie App and just call it "Workout".  Whether it is recognized as any kind of exercise or not, calories are still added to daily total based on heart rate.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
