Ive followed 2 different ways to do a factory reset and the fitbit has been removed from my account but the fitbit still hasn't gone back to factory settings - any help would be great

There isn't a factory reset procedure for the Charge 2. See: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2216/
Why are trying to do one? If it's because you are passing it on to someone else then there's no need as any data left on the fitbit gets deleted when it's added to someone else's account.
