home button suddenly stops working

i’ve had my charge 4 for a few years now and it’s been working fine. but the other day, the home button suddenly stopped working and the screen wouldn’t turn on. when i got home, i tried charging, syncing and rebooting but it still didn’t change anything, with the only time that the screen worked being when the fitbit would enter charge. the fitbit has now promptly started overheating. i’ve never experienced any issues like this before. what can i do to fix this?

My Charge 4 also won't respond to the home button and I am still showing as treadmill work out. It is still keeping time on this activity.  Charging doesn't correct issue and I also cannot reboot it.

Mine is doing the same - yesterday it would not sinc then it shut off and will not light again! 
It seems to show steps on the app but not on the actual device - it does still have the flashing green light at the back but not the red. I love my fit bit but it’s starting to get a bit frustrating to have to replace the device ever couple years!
