I cannot the MAC address for my charge 4 and yes, it is bluetooth and it still has a MAC address but I can't find it in settings on my charge 4 nor in the app, nor in my bluetooth connected devices on my Android.  Does anyone else have this problem and is there a solution besides using a 3rd party scanner app.

thanks!

Hi Julia,

Here is what I found.

Since the charge 4 is a bluetooth low energy, I was able to find the "MAC" address using windows on my computer.

I right clicked  on the windows start icon, clicked on device manager, click on blue tooth (make sure your computer has bluetooth scan enabled), found charge 4, click on it and click on the details tab, scroll down until you see Association End Point Address.  The Association End Point Address will have the D1:D2:D3:D4:56:78 format and there is another one in the details tab that is a blue tooth ID this will have the same exact number/letter format but without the ":".  My organization found this acceptable for the device's identification.

Let me know if you have thoughts on this.  I figured that because the charge 4 is a a low energy bluetooth and doesn't WiFi, but it does GPS, the device has to be uniquely identifiable.  My device is not allowed to use bluetooth over seas when doing official business because it can be tracked by its unique ID.

Cheers,

Bob

This is not available on the device (confirmed by moderators) and it looks like you will need to use a 3rd party app.  Sorry not to have a better solution for you.  Welcome to the forums.

Thank you for your answer!

I will use a 3rd party app to see if I can find it and when I do, I will post the results on the forum.

Thank you!
