I lost the alarms  on Charge 3. I wrote to Fitbit who graciously supplied this information:
As per our resources, users can no longer set alarms in the Fitbit app but can do so on the Charge 3 itself starting the last firmware update. Please follow our steps in setting your alarm on the tracker. If you already have an alarm setup, please turn it off for a minute then turn it back on. N.B. on the tracker . . . .
Make sure Do Not Disturb and Sleep Mode are turned off on your tracker. On the clock face, press and hold the button for 2 seconds then swipe to the left to access the quick settings screen and check if the DND and Sleep Mode options are off. Follow the instructions for Setting the alarms.

I did and now my alarms  are working.

@IanStewart whats the point of a smart watch that isn't? What good is silent alarms as an alarm clock when "smart" watch goes dnd and sleep mode automatically? None of the alarm changes to band only were good. Such a horrible customer service experience result.
