Did you mean:

tracking steps

I'm new to the FB community and jus purchased a FitBit 3.  It appears to be tracking my car miles too & not just my actual walking.

I'm looking to track:

10,000 steps/day

heart rate

sleep (which I still cannot figure out).

Do I need to "set" my Fitbit when I'm walking?  I thought it did this automatically (I think I set if for "after 10 min to track" or something like this. I'm not good a techie things.  Thank you in advance.

Hi @Kath72 yes depending on your cars suspension and the condition of the roads, your tracker may record some steps while driving. As to milage the car goes, fitbit is unable to determine this.

Steps can be removed manually or by using a third party app called Travelbit.

Sleep should automatically be tracked.

As for walk, by default it is set for a 15 minute walk and can be adjusted to 10 minutes.

If you want to get the distance you will have to add and manually start the walk mode.

Too long of a pause within the walk may prohibit the walk from being detected.
