Battery won’t charge

My battery was low, so I placed it on the charger. Went to put on the Fitbit, and it won’t turn on or sync with the app. I’ve tried restarting by holding the button down until I saw the smile face, which I got. It should be charged after being on the charger, but it’s not working. Is there something else I should be doing?
