Calorie Calculations per Exercise Mode

Does the calories are calculated vary per exercise mode? I've noticed that I seem to burn far fewer calories than I would expect using the weightlifting mode. However, I seem to burn about what I would expect, if not a little higher, using the workout mode for mixed method (often which, I am factoring a significant proportion of weightlifting). Is there a reason for this?

Also, what is the bootcamp mode supposed to be used for?

Hi @worldtraveler22 nice to see you around the Fitbit Forums. Welcome!

Thank you for sharing your questions here. About your inquiry, Fitbit devices combine your basal metabolic rate (BMR) the rate at which you burn calories at rest to maintain vital body functions (including breathing, blood circulation, and heartbeat) and your activity data (according to the activity you choose) to estimate your calories burned. You might say that weightlifting takes more in count your heart rate since the movement of you hands vary according to the area of your body you're working out.

Bootcamp is a type of group physical training program which focus on military-style exercises and functional movements like push-ups, squats, sprints, and sit-ups, provide a killer workout and a chance to sweat outside the gym.
