I am so confused. So I just got my Fitbit and I understand it already logs the 400-something calories for being alive. However, it says I only burned 100-160 calories during my workout which I know for a fact is incorrect. Is this just because it’s new and it’s just learning calculations? I got the inspire (not HR). Is this not the best model to accurately calculate?

@Jazstract Welcome! A Fitbit or any fitness tracker with a heart rate sensor will more accurately calculate your calories burned. So, without a heart rate sensor on your Inspire, it will give a guess on your calories based on the metrics you entered into the Fitbit app when you first got it (age, sex, height, weight).
However, I just want to let you know, you don't get just 400 calories burned for being alive. You get a lot more than that. I have a BMR of roughly 1300 calories. That is what my body burns every day just keeping me alive. Fitbit automatically calculate this and gradually adds it on to your day.
If you want to know what your BMR is, you can use an online calculator like this one to determine it.
You should know that BMR calories will automatically be factored into your workouts and exercises. They aren't much, but they will be added in so that might be why your calorie burn for exercises seems off.
This article here also explains how Fitbit calculates your calories burned. I hope this helps!
