Can FitBit Track Total Movement Minutes?

My movement goal centers around reducing the total time I spend sitting, so I want to track the total number of minutes that I'm up and moving during the day, including everyday activities like cooking, cleaning, walking the dog, etc. I do also do a lot of "micro workouts" throughout the day of 5-7 minutes. I just got the Inspire HR, and it appears to only be able to count movement time where my heart rate is raised, and even then, only if it's for longer than 10 minutes.

Even when I manually enter various workouts in the app, those times are not added to my total active time, no matter what the length. I've searched the FAQ, the community, and even had a customer support chat, but I'm unable to find a solution. Does anyone know if this is possible with this device, or maybe with the non-HR Inspire? It seems like such a simple thing!

Actually there is an often ignored stat that gives you something like that.

On phone app, tap the tile for hours with 250+ steps; then in the bottom half, tap the day of interest, then scroll down to "All Day Breakdown".  That shows the amount of time and % of waking time spent active and stationary.  I don't think "active" is exactly what you think of, but according to a 'help' description which seems to have disappeared, it counts stationary time as at least 10 minutes with no steps, and the rest is active time.  So if you just got up to take 10 steps every 9 minutes, I think that would count as all active time.  But I do find it a valuable statistic that I think is largely overlooked.

ETA:

Another thing to look at is total time in exercise zones.  On phone app, tap heart rate tile, then on lower half, tap day of interest.  It will show total time any Exercise Zone, and break down into time in fat burn, cardio, and peak zones.

Ah-ha...thank you!! This is definitely more helpful info for my own personal goals. It's not *quite* how I'd like it to be displayed in the UI, but it may make it worth keeping this device. The struggle to find a low profile tracker with attractive accessories is REAL. 🙂
