New (potential) Fitbit user here, have been considering getting a Charge 3 and now an Inspire HR over the last few months.
At first it seemed like a great idea, but seeing here all of the issues of over-counting, bad heart rate detection, weird sleep tracking, SpO2 sensor that isn't utilised and the lack of official comms around it, logging steps while driving. Step over-counting especially seems prevalent, compared to other devices (Apple Watch, Samsung's Watch)
I totally understand the forums here a just a chunk of the user base -- customers don't often make accounts just to praise the product -- But problems described here seem frequent and consistent.
Has anyone had a great experience? Or found the light at the end of the tunnel after some patches? Is Fitbit & the Inspire HR specially worth a try?

It's hard for me to say this, because I credit Fitbit products, and their software in playing a significant role in my fitness goals. They've helped me lose 40 lbs, get my cholesterol under control, and maintain both for over 5 years.
But Fitbit reliability/durability is sorely lacking. I've owned Charge HR, Charge 2, and now Charge 3. Charge HR, replaced under warranty once, I bought another out of warranty, when it died, I bought a Charge 2, it died just out of warranty, I bought a Charge 3, it got the frown face freezes 2 weeks in, replaced under warranty, 20 months later it won't hold a charge for more than a couple minutes.
I've gone through 6 devices in 5 years time, and an currently forced to look at getting a 7th. But I don't think I'll getting another Fitbit. I'm invested in their ecosystem, I own an Aria, am a premium subscriber, and my wife is currently using a charge HR. But I think I'll be looking into a competitor in hopes of something more durable.

Lucky is right!!! I've gone through 2 Ionics and one Versa in 2.5 years. Displays dead, HR LEDs dead, battery issues, sync issues, and it's time for FITBIT to invest in HALT testing. Meanwhile, I need to try Apple before I buy another Fitbit.

I'm with you. I have had 2 Charge 2's that decided to stop charging and now a brand new Charge 4 that doesn't work at all. I think the company is running on its reputation and product quality has taken a nosedive.
