Cracked screen solutions

I got a new Inspire HR last month, and the screen has already cracked.  It's still generally functional, but it's a long thin crack going horizontally across the top originating from a chip on the side.  I swim almost daily, and the ability to swim with the new tracker is why I got it to replace my charge 2, but with the crack that is probably not an option, and I don't want to try in case it stops working completely because of water getting in.

I contacted customer service and got a long, poorly written form letter back saying that they can't help me.  When I replied asking for advice on how to do a repair or anything, I was basically blown off.

I was surprised at the generic and poor customer service, since I had such a great customer service experience when I had an issue with my original charge hr back in the day.

I'm hoping that someone in the forums has any ideas to repair my cracked screen so I can continue to use it.    If I put on a screen protector, maybe that would seal it?   Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi @Pshini Depending on the crack location (does it extend away from the flat face, down the sides of the screen?) A screen saver may work. Or it may not. You could try sealing the crack with something like superglue which will tend to run along the entire crack, but if any gets inside the Inspire I am not sure what it might do to it! Other than thay I cant think of any options I'm  afraid.

I have had my Inspire HR 2 weeks and it suddenly cracked today when I was out for a walk with my kids. Nothing notable happened. I didn't bang my arm, or fall, or run face first into a tree...I just went for a walk in the nice sunshine, and came home to realise my screen had a massive horizontal crack across the front.

I took to the forums to find it is a common problem (a 35 page forum for it for the Charge 2)...

I contacted Fitbit over live chat...she went through the motions of having me post a picture with a case number... then gave me a generic response that no scratches or cracks to the screen are covered. Period.

So I have a nearly £90, cracked watch, that isn't waterproof...after only two weeks. 😞

I had the same thing happen on my Inspire HR after 3 weeks...doing nothing to make it crack....we are on lockdown from the CoronaVirus...so noooope.  Same run a round...could give me % off new one, wait, no-this is a new one. So Very Disappointed in Fitbit now....

I had 3 X charge2s and all the screens cracked.....fortunately they were all still under guarantee so had them replaced....so now changed to an Inspire and hoped this would be better as the screen is much smaller.....ha ha ha.....now had the watch for 11 months and have a vertical crack down one third of the face.... I’ll return it to the place I bought it again ( when they open) as I know there is no point in complaining to Fitbit customer services Because they won’t budge on broken watch faces.

Where did you buy yours? I am in US and bought mine from Amazon. Same thing. I used a protective cover for the 4 months I have owned my Inspire HR and wanted it because it can be used to track swimming. All of a sudden it's cracked? I only took the cover off because I couldn't get it to register swipes when wet, so figured the cover was the issue. Took it off and cracked in less than a day? So here I never even got to use it to track swimming and tried for about a week to do that. Didn't work even without the cover on. The customer service said that it was probably due to the crack. I explained I took the cover off because it didn't work. SO frustrated! I don't spend this kind of money on myself for watches, heck I don't even wear watches. I have worn this every day since I bought it
