Damaged charging contacts

My Fitbit won't seem to charge. I've used different outlets and different USB ports and nothing. Looking on the inside it appears that tiny spots are worn away where the charger connects to the contacts. I wear my Fitbit 24/7, unless charging, so it could not have come into contact with anything that would otherwise scrape or damage these contacts.

How can this get fixed or resolved? I really like the Fitbit, but if it its only going to last 6 months, I'm better off buying a competitor even if it costs significantly more.
