Display Name Network Error - Is this still an issue?

I recently got a fitbit. I'm not super fond of my real name on the display but every time I try to make a 'display' name I get 'Network Error - Sorry, there was a network error while you were trying to save. Please wait a few minutes and try again.' 

I've tried closing and reopening the app, turning on and off the bluetooth and wifi, turning the phone off and back on, uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Nothing works.
