I just got an Inspire HR as a gift. It says to download the app on a smart phone to get started. When I tried that, it would not load. I discovered that the app requires Android 7 or later (or an iPhone), but my phone has Android 6. I don't want to get a new phone just to use a Fitbit.
There is a Windows 10 app, and I downloaded it to my laptop. Before I get going with it rather than just returning the Fitbit (there was nothing on the Amazon site about software requirements), I would like to know what, if anything, I am giving up by not having the smart phone app and only using the Win 10 app?

@MP1018 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! Sorry for the delay in my reply.
Let me help you with your Fitbit app inquiry. Did you actually tried to download the app from the play store on your phone? You should have access to an older version of the app there that you can use to setup and sync your device. Additionally you will have the same experience on either the Fitbit app on your phone or on Windows 10. Still you can try your device before the return windows closes.
Let me know how it goes.
