This is my THIRD Fitbit. This time it did not fail electronically, but mechanically. The mechanism designed for the clips to engage to attach the band (new design with the Inspire that I absolutely dislike anyway) broke and the entire Fitbit is now not usable because my band will not engage/attach. Anyone else have this happen.? I am frustrated and ready to move on to another more reliable tracker, but don't want to lose my Fitbit history.

Yes, same thing happened to mine two days ago. I have had it a little over a year and the metal pieces to connect band just broke. I considered buying another but honestly I am tired of having to buy new fitbits because of band issues. This is about my 5th fitbit and every time I had to buy another it was because the connector to band broke and became would no longer attach. I really would think after all these years this is something the designers would focus on due to the number of complaints on various devices with same issue but I guess not. I really like my fitbit (all of the ones I have had from charger to inspire) but I am now looking at other products because this issue does not seem to be going away anytime soon and I am tired of wasting my money

Well, if it helps any to make your decision, I did "Chat" with Fitbit support today following this post to tell them about the problem and that I was outside of my one year warranty and they responded with an email about an hour later with a discount code for 35% off another Fitbit (with exception of Fitbit Ace 3 and Luxe). I need to think about this one! I didn't have this problem with previous Fitbits and now reading your experience of this part breaking on more than one, I am leaning toward another product. Thank you!!
