Exercise shortcut

I have just recently got the inspire Fitbit. It does not automatically recognise exercise - which is very frustrating and I have read that I need to adjust exercise shortcuts in order to do this track this on my phone. However - when I click on the inspire in my account area on the app, exercise shortcuts doesn’t come up. How can I change this?

See How do I change or reorder the exercises in the Exercise app?

  1. Tap the Today tab

     > your profile picture > your device image.
  2. Tap Exercise Shortcuts.
  3. To add a new exercise shortcut, tap the + icon and select an exercise.
  4. To remove an exercise shortcut, swipe left on a shortcut (on Windows 10, tap the trashcan icon).
  5. To reorder an exercise shortcut, press and hold a shortcut, then drag it up or down to change its position.
  6. Sync your device.

But note: this does not affect auto-recognizing.  This is to change which options are shown in the exercise app.  For more on how to use the exercise app, see

How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?

Once you get used to it, I think you will find the exercise app more accurate and reliable than auto-recognition.

Thanks for the response - I have followed the instructions and ‘exercise shortcuts’ doesn’t come up. Am I looking at the right screen? See attached picture for what comes up.

My apologies.  The Inspire, unlike the Inspire HR, does not have the exercise app.

But you can make adjustments to the auto-recognized activities.

From the main 'Today' page of the phone app, tap the Days of Exercise tile.  Then tap the gear icon near top right.  That will show the different auto-recognized activities.  For each you can adjust the minimum time required for that to count as an exercise session, I think from 10 to 90 minutes.  The starting default for all I think is 15 minutes.  If you were doing an activity for less that 15 minutes, this could fix that.  Otherwise this probably won't make any difference.
