Faulty Activity Data

I just got my brand new Inspire Fitbit. Even before setup was complete, the device was telling me I have put 19 steps on it that I know for a fact I haven't. That number has since increased to 24 without any movement whatsoever. I have downloaded both the app for my Google Pixel phone, and for my laptop, and have attempted to clear the faulty data from both dashboard on my laptop now shows 0 steps, but the device itself still shows 24 steps despite manually syncing it. AARRGGHH!!

How do I clear this faulty data and start all over? Should I treat the Fitbit as if I had just been given a previously used device?  Can this problem be fixed without erasing all of my account and personal information? HELP! Thank you!

Accepted Solutions

1.  The way to get rid of all data is to get it to sync; then create a new account with new id/email and add it to that account.

2.  Sorry, but if you are upset about 19 or 24 steps, you have unrealistic expectations for the tracker's accuracy and will probably never be satisfied with it.  The tracker detects steps from the normal swinging of the arms while walking.  It cannot always tell the difference between other movements and actual steps.
