Fitbit Inspire HR not working

I am on my second Fitbit Inspire HR. I bought my first one in April of 2019. The screen would go black every couple of weeks and I would have to plug it in and reset it. I got tired of this and contacted the company. They sent me a replacement in September of 2019. I started using it last week. Today, I went for my usual 3-mile walk (not pushing a stroller or a cart, as the customer service person I talked to insisted I must have been) on a trail in my park and when I got home, the device said I had been 0 miles and that my heart rate was 90. This makes no sense. I am so frustrated. I feel that this is not a good product. I do not want a fitness tracker that has problems so constantly. I never had these issues when I was using a Fitbit Flex. I bought my tracker through Amazon, which will no longer refund my money, and the Fitbit company will not issue a refund because I purchased it through Amazon. So, I am stuck with a $70 tracker that I have owned for less than a year that does not work. Is there anything I can do at all other than throw it in the trash?

I did reach out to customer support, but the person I chatted with was not able to help me. It seems the only option for dealing with a Fitbit that does not work is to endlessly restart it. Since this is a device that I rely on for motivation, it is extremely frustrating that it is not reliable. My options seem to be to keep restarting the Inspire HR every time it does not work, or to simply throw it away and buy a new fitness tracker. I am disappointed that the company cannot offer me a better solution or even an apology for selling me a tracker that does not work well and exchanging it for a replacement that also does not work well. It seems to me that this is not a good product.

I would love to hear that Fitbit is taking steps to improve the design of the Inspire HR so that this does not happen to people who purchase one in the future.
