Fitbit for cycling

When GPS is connected, my Inspire HR accurately measures cycling distance. But once synced, the Fitbit app shows a much lower distance figure. I bought the tracker for running and cycling. Am I foolish for hoping my Inspire HR would be good for cycling?

Which is approximately the difference between the initial tracked distance and the logged one after the sync ?

One ride was 5 miles, but it synced as .8 miles. Another was almost 7 miles, but synced as around 2. What's strange is that the correct mileage appears in activity log after syncing, but doesn't appear in the "Today" menu, and thus doesn't count toward my total mileage.

These are indeed huge differences ! Weird.

But in reverse! The Fitbit app is reporting the GPS data in one place, but dramatically undercounting it where it counts, in the "Today" screen. (The post you linked to is overcounting distance.)

How long have you had this issue?
The latest 3.x versions of the Fitbit app are a complete mess.
They're causing issues with the the pairing & sync (with the phone), the notifications, the loading of the list of friends and many more. The forums are full of complaints these days.
Maybe an updated version of the app would solve the issue with the GPS, too ?
Let's hope so.

Oh, man. Thanks for letting me know. I've only had it five days, and I think I'm just going to return it.

I'm kind of worried, too, with all these issues.
Mine arrives sometime next week and I would really not want to be disappointed.
