My fitbit inspire 2 is constantly recording over 200 steps every night while I sleep. Is this a common issue. I find it rather annoyed and am seriously considering looking into other smart watches. If there is a way of truly fixing this I would rather do this.
Thank you Jenniemay

Hi, @Jenniemay , this almost certainly means that you are a very active sleeper and do a lot of tossing and turning over night. Some “steps” are likely to be recorded during sleep, although 200 does seem a lot.
If you are a very active sleeper I suspect that any wrist worn tracker will also give you some extra steps, but it is worth remembering that 200 steps for most people is only a few minutes walking so not a significant portion of your day...
Having said that, you can make your Fitbit a little less sensitive to hand movements by wearing your Fitbit on your non dominant hand, but change your app setting to “dominant”.
To do this, in the Fitbit app click on your device (Inspire 2). Scroll down to “wrist placement” and set it to “dominant”.
This should reduce the number of sleeping false steps, but if you do tend to be active in your sleep it is unlikely to eliminate them altogether.
I hope this helps. Welcome to the forums!
