Heart Rate Blank

Have been wearing an Inspire HR for several days and everything was working great.  It wasn’t counting my steps on the treadmill, so I attached it to my shoe—which I used to need to do with my Flex—well, after putting it back on my wrist, the heart rate is blank.  Everything else is working, and the heart rate blinking light on the back is working.  Any ideas?

@kjossi46 Not sure if this is your situation, but it happened to me and this was the fix:

  1. From the clock face, swipe down five times to reveal the "Settings" app.
  2. Then, tap on the display.
  3. Scroll down to reveal the "Heart Rate" setting.
  4. If the Heart Rate setting is set to "OFF" tap on the word "OFF". That should change the Heart Rate setting to "ON".
  5. Verify that the heart rate is no longer blank (--).

If the heart rate setting is "ON", then you may need to reboot your tracker (it won't erase data).

  1. Attach the charger to your Inspire HR and verify it starts to charge.
  2. Press and hold the left button for several seconds until the screen goes blank and then a smiley face appears (you can let go of the button once the smiley face appears).
  3. See if your heart rate is no longer blank.

Thank you, that’s exactly what was the problem.  Didn’t know I had turned it off.

Yep, worked for me too. (Who is that person who mysteriously turns things off?)

1. It’s turned on in Settings

2. Rebooted with smiley face

3. Still no heart rate

Any other suggestions?

Like KSKing, my heart rate is on, I have rebooted, all my my exercise and steps are tracking fine, but my heart rate is not working.  For me, it's important, because I can't use the sensitive sleep tracking without the heart rate, and I have some medical issues that require the more sensitive data  (the non-sensitive data shows that I only get 2-4 hours of sleep at night.)

Thank you so much!! I kept trying to turn the heart rate back on through the app and was having no luck! You made my day!

What finally worked for me was restarting my iPad, which still seems weird to me, since other things besides heart rate were working.

Mine is doing the same thing.  Did you get yours fixed yet?

Hi,
I ended up taking pictures, tweeted it to Fitbit and they sent a
replacement body (without straps) and disconnected the old one.
My new one works great!

Check that the FitBit is in 'wrist mode' and not 'clip mode' in the settings. Clip mode was the default for me and Heart Rate was not showing as an option. I switched to wrist mode, switched Heart Rate as 'on', rebooted the device and now tracks heart rate BPM.
