I have owned my Inspire 2 for 8 months now, and I can say that the sleep tracking works no more than 50% of the time. And many of the times when it "works" it stops recording my sleep sometime in the middle of the night, when I have not even gotten out of bed. So for example it shows that I went to bed at 11pm and "woke up" at 2am, when in fact I slept for another 3 or 4 hours after that time. I think I have tried everything. I have worn it tighter and I have worn it looser. I have rebooted it just before bed, both from the device and also from the charger.
I contacted support and they suggested I restore it to factory settings. I did that, and it worked for 3 nights, then stopped again. They followed up with me and I complained that their fix didn't fix it for long. I also asked again about the way it often just stops tracking in the middle of the night. Here is their response: "We just receive a response from our higher team, we want to let you know that movement during sleep may stop recording sleep, however, you can manually edit the sleep record." Seriously? Movement during sleep can stop it from recording? Isn't the amount of movement and restlessness one of the things it should be tracking for me? I could certainly manually enter the time I went to bed and the time I got up but that is not what I am trying to track.
I saw a response to another post on the subject that said " If you tend to sleep with a flexed wrist, for example, that can affect the consistency of the HR readings." I don't think I sleep in an odd way, but who knows. I have a hard time believing this is particular to me, since I have read a lot on these boards about this issue. Are all of you other Inspire 2 users getting consistent sleep tracking? This tracker tracks my steps, my activities, my heart rate just fine as far as I can tell. It's just the sleep tracking that's a problem.
Tracking sleep is one of the main reasons I use a Fitbit so this is unacceptable to me. I feel like I should throw it out and get something else, but not sure what. I don't want something bigger because I think it would be more intrusive while I sleep.

Fair point. But it's been over 2 weeks since I responded to the support team saying that the comment about the device not working if there is movement in the night is not helpful. I just figured they had lost interest in my issue and were not going to get back to me.

Thanks for posting this. I’d very much like to hear what they find out, if anything. I’m experiencing the same problem.
My Fitbit Charge 2 had been recording perfectly for a couple of years when it suddenly started recording erratically about half a year ago. I thought maybe it was just old and bought a new Inspire 2, but it’s just as erratic. It measures my sleep correctly about 40% of the time. The rest is either the full night missing or about half.
I have also tried to reset it and checked that my sleep setting is not on sensitive.
I suspect the fault may be in the syncing, because I have noticed that the battery percentage when I pull down to sync on the main screen rarely updates. It will show the same for days at a time. Not sure if this relates to your case, but thought I’d share it.
best of luck.

I’m a new user and I’m having the same problem. Seems to only give me a sleep score half the time. And I got it for the same reason - to help me figure out how to sleep better. I, too, will contact support.

I just got my Inspire 2, and I bought it because of reports of very high sleep tracking accuracy. That's what I'm looking for.
I have worn it about ten nights now. I have learned a few things.
On day three I turned off 24/7 heart rate tracking (I thought I would save battery life) and for the next three nights I did not get any Sleep Stages information or Sleep Score, until I figured out the 24/7 heart rate tracking must be on for Sleep Stages or Sleep Score to work.
On day two I set my Sleep Tracking from Sensitive to Normal, and it has been there for about eight nights now. Today I finally recalled where that setting was (on the Inspire 2 the only way I have found to adjust sleep from sensitive->normal or back is on the web page. On the watch and on the app I could not find that setting...it drove me batty for a little while until I found it on the webpage)
Now I have it on Sensitive, and though people report troubling accounts of their sleep now showing only two or three hours of sleep, I am going to keep it on Sensitive for about ten days to get a baseline, and really try and understand what it is telling me, and if I can see sleep patters that make sense.
My Sleep scores are not great, and I think with Sensitive they are going to drop even further. I have averaged a Sleep Score of 76 through this so far.
I am trying to learn as much as I can. I know it isn't scientific accuracy, but hopefully it can be useful.

Mine will not work. I have the settings all proper and check them on a daily but it still will not track. I have resorted to doing it manually but I would like to see the stages as they are interesting to see. Please help I’ve only had it 8 months.

With my Inspire 2 now set to Sensitive on my first night my Sleep Score dropped from an average or 76 to last night's 67. It seems it calculated the time I fell asleep about an hour later than what I guess the real time was. We'll see. I'm going to keep it this way for a couple of weeks and get a baseline.
