After an update of the app yesterday, my wife's inspire 2 stopped responding to screen taps, though the clock face showed and it continued to record steps. It also showed 100% charged. Various groups suggested a restart. So I put it in the power cradle and pressed the side buttons for 8 seconds. The smiley face came on and it restarted. But the screen is now blank as well.
Any number of restarts makes no difference. I still get the smiley face, but nothing else (obviously the screen hardware is fine!). The unit vibrates as it should and the sensor light on the back shines. But no screen. I did try downloading a new clock face. It showed the progress bar and then, when installed, nothing. I even tried to view the screen in a pitch black room in case the brightness was on some minimum setting. Nothing.
Things get worse...
Last night the app seems to have lost association with the fitbit. Oddly my Charge 5 did exactly the same overnight, last night. Now it took me only a few minutes to re associate my Charge 5 with my phone. But my wife's Inspire 2 is not showing the screen! so no PIN. So it's no longer associated with her account.
It is out of guarantee. Just. After two Charge 3s and a flex before that, she is justifiably refusing to spend anything else with this company.
Any ideas how I can get this device to do a factory reset without reading the screen?
Thanks
Moderator Edit: Clarified subject
I have the same problem as lots of others here. I have just got a blank screen, but also no heart rate sensor. The only way I can get the screen to respond is to plug it in to the charge cable - then the screen works. But despite this and many attempts to reset nothing has restored it to life when not plugged in (despite being 100% fully charged). Have also updated the software....
Mine seems to have the same issue, was ok when out for walk, now nothing on screen. When I press button have vibration etc. Have had on charge, tried pushing button for 8 seconds and 15 seconds, nothing on screen....

My Inspire 2 was not connecting to the app, but was working fine. Fully charged, screen fine... and then I did a reset and the screen died as well as the flashing green light. Resetting is what got me into this mess with no way out. I followed directions from Fitbit to reset the Inspire 2 if it wasn't connecting to the app. This coincided with switching over to signing in with Google to the app. It was fine when I signed into Fitbit. I get the smile face and then nothing happens. So Google, what is going on? None of this happened before signing in with a Google account instead of signing in with my Fitbit account.

I also noticed before my screen went blank that the heart rate sensor wasn't working. I've tried everything suggested on multiple threads. My Fitbit app sees my Inspire 2. The screen shows a smile face when resetting... and then nothing. I had a 100% charge before this happened. I charged it again for an hour and still doesn't work. Screen is fine if smile face is showing. Can't put in a code, since screen is blank. Never comes back to life after smile face and then disconnecting from the charger. I was going to replace it since they are now half price, but I bet a new one would also crash and burn. This all happened when I switched over from signing in to Fitbit and switching to signing in with my Google account.
Best AnswerOddly enough I pulled out my old Fitbit Charge 2 and it worked for a few days and today it mysteriously went blank too!
