Is there anyway that you can turn down the sensitivity of the inspire 2?
My steps were a huge amount for a normal day at work, 15000+ which would have been lucky to be 8000 the my old flex. Set to non dominant hand. Thanks.

@Jud007 Welcome to the Community.
Let me help you with your Inspire 2 counting too many steps and thank you for letting me know the setting you are using with your tracker. As you may already know your device will detect the movement on your arm and translate that movement into steps. There are situations in which your arm may move but you won't be actually walking. For example, this may happen when you are playing the drums, burping a baby or clapping. It can also happen while driving. You can negate these steps by logging a driving activity. You can try wearing your device on your non-dominant hand but select that hand as dominant on the device’s settings to make it less sensitive to movement.
Let me know how it goes.

I'm also having this problem. I have changed my settings to 'Dominant' under wrist placement in the app, but that hasn't really had an effect. For example I had only moved out of bed one morning and already I was on 60 steps. It also logs steps when I am washing my hands, which is dominant hand independent. Just now I washed my hands and it logged about 80 steps. I logged over 11,000 steps during my workday and my colleague who wears a different brand tracker logged half that amount; we do the same thing. Since I have already adjusted my settings to account for my dominant hand, is there another way you can turn down the sensitivity? Thanks

Mine is even worse. It thinks I have done 193,000 steps today instead of a more realistic 5000.

Same pattern here with me and my wife’s brand new Inspire 2. I have pretty high steps counts just sitting at the desk. My wife have just been sick, laying in bed all day and have tracked 7000 steps. Her old Alta HR did not do this.
something is not right here.

I have tried these fixes you suggested and it does not help. It sounds like these devices are defective. For example I have a very standard routine in the morning the hour before I leave my house, with my Alta I got about .3 miles. Today I started wearing the inspire 2 and it said 2.6 miles. This is absurd. Then going about my day i was racking up steps like crazy- there is no point in wearing it. So do we have defective trackers that can be exchanged?

On day one with the Versa 2 mine counted 3.5k steps whilst I was asleep at 3am.
It seems to count less at times when my previous watch felt more accurate.
Something is definitely not right with the watch.

My Inspire 2 is also detecting too many steps. My wife has a different fitbit device and we both hiked a trail the other day with our devices on. I logged 13, 456 steps and her fitbit tracked her at just over 7500 steps. That is a ridiculous difference. Yes, I tried the non dominant hand trick, yes, I restarted the Inspire 2. This thing is just stupid wrong.

I found a possible solution for this problem.
1- Long press on the side button of your watch to get to the menu.
2- Select device settings.
3- Make sure that the watch is set to "On wrist" and not "On clip".
That should hopefully solve this problem.

I have the Inspire 2 and it has the same problem: it counts way too many steps.
My partner and I both have the same model, and for a given distance walked, my tracker always seems to show about 10-15% more steps despite her legs being much shorter than mine (which should be the opposite); typically, when we've walked 15,000 steps by her watch, mine will read around 18,000. We've actually sat at a a bar one time and watched it increasing as I shook my wrist.
I will change try changing from non-Dominant to Dominant and see if this stops. But is there no other way to adjust it? For example, is there some kind of "advanced mode" which allows more finely tuned settings?

Tried this, and it is already set to “on wrist.” Darn it!
