Inspire 2 not auto-tracking exercise

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Inspire 2 has never really tracked my exercise, specifically when I ride my Peloton. My HR gets pretty high, and “zone minutes” track, but it never shows up in the exercise tab. I typically do 30+ min rides and weight sessions, so have no trouble hitting the minimum time required to track. I have all exercises selected for auto track (walk, run, “sports”, etc.). It will occasionally track a walk in the exercise tab.

any suggestions?

Hi there, @Csquared913. Thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums.

Please know that most Fitbit devices automatically recognize and record high-movement activities through the SmartTrack feature. To start, the default duration settings of your Fitbit Inspire 2 is 15 minutes long. However, you can also choose which activities your device tracks automatically, or change the amount of time needed to record the activity. To do so, please follow the next steps:

  1. Tap the Today tab , then tap the Exercise tile.
  2. Tap the gear icon in the top right.
  3. Tap an exercise, and adjust the duration or turn off Auto-recognize.

You can learn more about the SmartTrack feature in this link How do I track my activity with my Fitbit device?

Keep in mind that you can also use the Exercise app to start and stop a workout. For more information, see How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps.

This doesn’t help at all. I’ve done all those things and it still won’t track my exercise in the exercise tab. I’ve even reset my Fitbit. Also, I don’t have a Fitbit Luxe, I have an Inspire 2, as clearly stated. You upvoted your own answer, which didn’t answer my concern at all. All you did was copy and paste whatever exists in the FAQs, which I’ve already looked at and it didn’t provide me a solution, hence why I came here. It appears others are having the same issue, and they are also getting the same run-around copied response.

Do better.

Does anyone else have any real solutions?

Hi @Csquared913 - Several months ago I had an issue with accurately tracking an exercise - I know that it's not your exact problem - but I received a sort of generic fix for many issues - You might want to give it a try until you here back from the Fitbit Support team -

I have an iPhone - This worked  -  Good Luck

Please do the following:

  • Sync the Inspire 2.
  • Turn off bluetooth.
  • Go into your iPhone settings > General > iPhone storage > Fitbit > Delete.
  • Restart the iPhone.
  • Go into the App store and download Fitbit application.
  • Restart the Inspire 2.
  • Turn back on the bluetooth.
  • And sync the Inspire 2 to the app.

Also, I the moderator I worked with, @SilviaFitbit , who was great, opened a case with tech support for me and I received the above solution within a couple of hours - She did not tell me to call tech support

Just a note about a stationary bike. Since the hand is not moving, your tracker will not be able to detect this exercise.

Also undetectable is a treadmill. The body is not moving forward, therefore the arm move my is different.

Hi there. I'm experiencing the same issue with my Inspire 2. I followed the above directions, but still, no change. The thing is, I've only had this Fitbit since the beginning of the year. Are there any other potential fixes? 🙃

It’s not just me then! My flex 2 sadly died this year, although basic it was miles better than the Inspire 2. I hate having to tell it when I start and stop exercise. It’s unnecessary.
