The last week I had noticed that my inspire 2 was tracking lots more steps than it should have. I have it in a clip. I've been gone since Friday so left it sitting on the counter. Today I get home and Friday it says 9,145 steps, Saturday 19,558 steps and today 25,041 steps! And it hadn't even moved. I have rebooted a couple of times. What is going on?

Follow this few steps to see if it'll work out...
1. Ensure you're wearing the Fitbit correctly
2. Ensure that you have the correct Fitbit placement settings entered into the Fitbit app
3. Check your personal data is correct within the Fitbit app
4. Measure your stride length and put it into the Fitbit app
5. Check for a firmware update
6. Turn off GPS
7. Restart
8. Add as a new device
9. Factory reset
10. Log your non-active times.

Hi, @Joan105 could your Fitbit have been left near a source of vibration? This could be an electric fan, a washing machine, dryer or dishwasher? Even leaving it by a computer (which will have a cooling fan) could cause it to register steps. If it regularly detects vibration and movement your Fitbit will begin to count steps. That is how it is designed!
