There are threads on this same issue in relation to other devices, its a shame the feedback isn't taken into consideration in terms of other/future products as its clearly a usability issue for many users. I have upvoted this post, but hopefully given the feedback on the same issue on similar devices this can be addressed asap.

this thread is related to the same issue but for the inspire HR:

And on the 3rd page for the inspire hr you'll see that the moderator states that the new inspire 2 solves this issue!!

Feels like we're going in circles.

This isn’t really an answer. Is it possible to lengthen time screen is on? It shuts off ridiculously fast

Best Answer

The previous thread that was opened asking about this very basic feature was open for five months before this post was made by a moderator, making the (apparently false?) claim that this feature was now implemented on the Inspire 2. It's hard to imagine a simpler feature request. This should have taken a single junior engineer less than a week to implement. It's appalling that the feature was never added to the Inspire HR and the accepted "solution" was to spend $100 on new hardware, but here I am with the Inspire 2 and I'm still unable to figure out how to make the screen stay awake for more than 3 seconds, which makes the display almost useless.

I'll be refunding the device within the week if it turns out that this incredibly basic setting was never added to this new $100 device that Fitbit staff explicitly said would support it.

I agree its ridiculous that the Inspire 2 doesn't include this feature of lengthening the screen time when so many users had raised this as a problem with the original Inspire. Had I known about this deficiency beforehand I would never have bought the Inspire 2 and may indeed now return it.

You will only get a ludicrous response from Fitbit. They haven’t fixed it yet and given how simple the fix must be I think it’s just contempt at this point.

I just received an Inspire 2, set it up, and the first thing I noticed was how short the display time is. I looked in the manual and couldn't find how to extend it and then starting reading forums. People were complaining about this two years ago. I'll wear this for a week and see if I can live with such a short display time.

Best Answer

Exactly. This turns off immediately, how am I supposed to track heart rate when the screen is always off? Is there a way to keep screen on? Otherwise this is a 80$ bracelet. Unusable.

Best Answer

Exactly- a lame bracelet.

Throw in the lame app that seems to constantly be unable to contact server and that can't keep in communication with the fitbit consistently enough to use that as an alternative to the thoroughly worthless display on the fitbit and....

after 4 days of this, I'm going to return it.

So yeah the screen definitely needs to last for a minute getting your post was last year let’s just say they still haven’t improved it and I googled and learned all somewhat about it I found out it’s only a year old they gave me a year of the Fitbit premium and the battery last up to 10 days

So I will say I wish they had a prove that that’s my only downfall is I wasn’t impressed at the screen only stays on for three seconds and that the band that comes with it and material is supposed to be material is most fitness trackers but I don’t know really what’s in it because I had a different brand I think the shaker by a different company it look like an actual watch add two buttons they could do sleep and steps.  So I will say I wish they had a prove that that’s my only downfall is I wasn’t impressed at the screen only stays on for three seconds and that the band that comes with it and material is supposed to be material is most fitness trackers but I don’t know really what’s in it because I had a different brand I think the shaker by a different company it look like an actual watch add two buttons they could do sleep and steps so this was definitely my first Fitbit and for fitness tracker that was digital and it was rechargeable because the one I had before was like you change the battery every six months. It definitely will say I don’t know what’s in their material for their bands but they are not the same from other companies but they having theirs gave me a rash and peeling.  Did they try to advertise it is the same material but in fitness bands but I have a hard time believing that. I’ve used two other brands and I never had that issue until I got the Fitbit and then after I got it I had issues with it like give me a rash peeling are getting that issue and it’s a common thing they say after so many hours supposed to take it off but I can’t wear for eight hours at work. 34 hours you probably wanna take it off that’s not a good sign

The Fitbit when I have purchased I will say this if you have a small wrist this may not be for you because the wedge shaped where the band that comes with it fits it just doesn’t fit right in there too loose or too tight and I gotten an expensive one on Amazon that was thinner it’s supposed to look like leather but it’s fake I will say this you have to put the second to the last hole but I can’t with this one.  I don’t know if I got the actual smart ones the ones that are square smaller wrist I don’t know it’s like the first fitness tracker work it’s really hard to find a way to make it fit my time but it’s either too tight or it’s not too loose but loose enough that I’m not even sure the heart rate is working properly. I like it where is that bit heart rate is working better that way too tight and I put it to the third to last fall and I’m not even sure the heart rate is working properly in that sense little too snug so I’m still trying to figure out how to get comfortable on my tiny wrist

So does that mean there is no way to change it?

I've just gotten used to it. I think my brain has adjusted to looking quickly when I press. I like the Inspire 2's form factor, features, and especially the Premium option and connectivity with other apps so I'm happy with it.

You can swipe a little and than hold the screen with your finger to keep it on. Not the nicest solution but it somewhat works.
although having a simple setting to set the screen on timer would be much more userfriendly.
just like having brighter screen during day and lower brightness during night.
