So happy to find out the Fitbit Inspire works with a clip. Years ago I had a Fitbit One and loved it. I was sad when I lost it, and found out it had been discontinued. For various reasons a watch-style fitness tracker doesn't work for me. Really happy Fitbit decided to make the Inspire work with a clip! Just ordered it, and looking forward to it arriving in a few days. Anyone had any issues with using the clip?

Hello @JenniferJBS and welcome to the Help forums. I did a brief search and and don't see any complaints. I want to point out a setting on the Inspire to help you be ready to use it. The Inspire has a Quick Settings that didn't exist on the One. You press and hold the button for about 2 seconds to get to the Quick Settings. You can check your battery level, adjust the Screen Wake, turn on/off notifications, and choose between On Wrist or On Clip. Make sure you have it on the On Clip setting. Press the button lightly to get back to the clock face.
I hope you enjoy your new Inspire.

@LZeeW Thanks! I hadn't seen any complaints either. The information about the Inspire have Quick Settings, and On Wrist/On Clip is exactly the kind of information I was hoping to get, since it's a change from my old Fitbit One. Thank you!

All the complaints I've seen for the Inspire have been related to either wearing it on the wrist or general battery/display issues.
I wear my Inspire in the clip, on my hip, every day since I got it. The only time it's on my wrist is at night when I'm in bed. As a former One diehard (by the time I gave up my One, I was having to charge it three times a day LOL), I'm ... content... with the Inspire. Not happy, not delighted, not overjoyed, merely content. There are little things - mostly aesthetics - that I find unpleasant and/or annoying, but I recognize those things are probably just me. It tracks my steps as well as my One ever did.
My biggest issue has been that the sleep tracker sometime decides not to register my sleep or registers it... wrong. I usually just make note of what time I crawl into bed and what time I fall out of it so that I can manually input sleep time IF... *IF*... it didn't register that I was sleeping. (I do miss having a way to set it to "sleeping now!" vs this "it will sense when you've gone to sleep" thing.) I've had a few nights where I couldn't sleep, tossed and turned the whole night through, and it said I slept like a rock. I've had a few nights where I slept hard and deep and it said I was awake most of the night. The rest of the time, it's... acceptable, I guess.
If you do use it for sleep tracking, please be aware that you need to change it from "clip" to "on wrist" or it won't register your sleep. It took me a few nights to figure that one out.
I really do miss my One, but I'm glad there's a clip option again.

I wear mine in the clip and have had no problems with it what so ever.

I used the Fitbit Inspire for a month and it feels great. Nothing to complain.
Just bought a Clip and use it for almost a day.
There are little things I saw:
First, Inspire + Clip didn't track my sleep. I turned on the on clip mode and I see nothing in the morning.
Second, I didn't feel any Moving Reminder of taking 250 per hour today? I intentionally miss an hour to see if it vibrate but I didn't see anything.
Please check it out?

As I said in an earlier response, the inspire does not record sleep in "on clip" mode. At night, you're supposed to put it back on the band, put it on your wrist, and change it to "on wrist".
As for the 250 per hour thing, I don't know. It's not a thing I pay attention to or care about.

I've noticed my new Inspire doesn't track my swimming when it is in clip mode. I don't like to wear the band while lap swimming in the summer - tan lines!
Anybody having problems with all day synching? Mine doesn't until I hit "synch" on my phone.

I actually struggle to understand why a clip option is not available for every model. There are times we want to take advantage of all of the features a fitness tracker has to offer and then there are times that wearing a device on our wrists is simply not an option or preferred. I don’t like to wear anything on my wrist at work because of how it feels while working on my laptop. I prefer to not wear a larger fitness tracker on my wrist when wearing other jewelry. Others are not permitted to wear anything on their wrists in some manufacturing environments for safety. If I am out in the sun all day I may not want the tanlines. How we want to wear or use our fitness trackers depends on the person, the day and the activity. Offer us one fitness tracker that provides us flexibility and all of the functionality and we don’t have any reason to look for something else. Don’t offer that and I am always watching for a product that will.

What happens if you have it set as on wrist while in fact it is on the clip?

I ask this because I do not see a choice to set as clip.. I have ordered the clip. I used to have a one, also I see wrist —dominant, non dominant. But there is not a clip choice. I.Am feeling frustrated.

@Farinap The On Wrist/On Clip setting is done on the Inspire device, not in the app. Press and hold the button for about two seconds and you will get to the Quick Settings. Make the switch there.

Totally agreed.
I love to wear watches. Different watches for different kinds of days. So I am really not into using a smartwatch or a smart band, which I have to wear it on my wrist all day.
I'm still looking for a better tracking device which offer wrist and clip option. And a fitness app which everyone can play using different devices, trackers.
My Fitbit Inspire isn't very good but no good trackers have their functions while not being on my wrist.
Yeah if there's any other device that offers better function like GPS and better activities tracking while on clips, I'll go fot it.

Some features are missing when you wear your Fitbit on the clip - for instance it doesn't vibrate to remind you to move every hour if you haven't done 250 steps - I've requested this as a feature, vote for it here if you'd like this to be implemented too https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Allow-reminders-to-move-when-quot-On-clip-quot-m...

Thank you for this! Exactly what I was looking for when I didn't see the "on clip" choice in the app. Thanks! 🙂

Hi,
It's on the bottom of that menu.
Just scroll down and you will see that wrist/clip setting.

The only three items I have on the screen after the two second old are: battery, screen wake, and notifications. I don't have the on wrist/on clip option.
