Inspire HR Setup

Bought an Inspire HR from Amazon and it arrived today. Currently attempting to set it up, but before I do that, I have to update the device. The problem is I can't even get it to update because when it gets to 5%, it tells me I need to plug it in and that it's not charged enough. Mind you, I've had it plugged in in every outlet in my apartment. The charge also went from 30 to 60 percent in just a few seconds, so I'm not sure I trust this at the moment. Is there a way around this issue? Otherwise I can't even finish the setup....
