Inspire HR button not working correctly

Has anyone had a problem with erratic behavior of the side button. It's difficult to change the settings because when I hold the button down long enough for the settings to appear, as soon as I release it, the screen goes blank. It's like when I release it, it creates an extra button press. If I press and release once to see the time, the display appears and then goes blank right away. It's like the switch is creating extra pulses. Eventually I can get it to work, but it can take several attempts.

 

In electronics, it's called switch bounce. One press can create two pulses. Software or electronics should have a debounce design to ignore rapid open/close signals due to noisy switch contacts.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared in your post, I understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. To fix this uncommon situation, I recommend you to try our restart process and also, you may be able to remove dust or dirt by gently using a toothpick around the button. If this does not improve the button performance, you can try to clear debris using canned air. Hold the tracker at arm's length and spray once to loosen any dirt or dust that may have accumulated around the button.

I tried the things you suggested and even tried rising the button under the faucet. Occasionally it will work the first time, but usually I'll have to try multiple times to change the settings. It worked fine for the first 6 months. This problem just started happening the past month.
