Inspire HR not automatically tracking any exercise

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just got my inspire HR 2 weeks ago and it had not once automatically tracked my exercise. I'm unfortunate enough to be on the new app so none of the old posts about this or Fitbits outdated guides are useful. I tried restarting, adding elliptical to recognized exercise, changed elliptical intervals to 10 minutes but none. It just recognizes that I did some kind of cardio activity when I manually add it after the fact via the "track previous". What am I to do now? Return it to Amazon as a defective device? Call Fitbit??

like it overall and it seems ok for pretty much everything else but it's not doing what it's claiming one of it's features is so I feel like I'm not getting my values worth.

I am also having a very hard time with exercise tracking. I tried to let it auto track a treadmill session and it only gave me credit for half (the 10 minutes after the initial 10 it looks for) so I disabled auto tracking and tried using "Exercise" "Treadmill" "GO" "Finish" on my device on my wrist and got very strange results. I walk the same every single day - one mile at 3mph which takes 20 minutes exactly...I've gotten everything from .7mph to 1.1mph and .24 miles to .38 miles...in the last 5 days. I want to be able to see my stats while walking but the step count is wrong based on the distance logged because the speed is wrong ...which means nothing is accurate. Calories burned, calories available, etc. Ugh. Help.

Mine was working fine, but I accepted an update and now it's not tracking activity.I was able to log my walk manually, but it still won't show my activity through the tracker.

Still not tracking after multiple restarts. Even my Google fit recognized me walking but Fitbit just adds steps and nothing else.

Can we get an update on this?? Tempted to ask Amazon to give me a replacement ...

Edit: just as I said this, I noticed Fitbit finally logged my walk lol. Still won't log my elliptical but that's fine as it's calorie estimate is completely off from what's on my elliptical screen (which is based off my inclination and is more accurate).

Same problem on mine 🤔

I have the same issue. It was definitely auto recognising outdoor bike, walking, and it's not auto recognising any activity.

This problem started with the app updated to the new UI version 3.4 (20213422). Android.

Can the Fitbit Team advise on what to do next please?

How/when will this problem be fixed?

Hi Admins

Is this the correct forum to log issues and seek technical support?  If not, please supply a web link.

I would be grateful if a forum admin can comment as not to delay my resolution to this issue.

Thanks.

Welp looks like that one day of tracking was good luck as it's back to not tracking anything again. The only way for me to track is to start an exercise every time I'm "walking" in NYC.🙄 Disappointing that one of the features I bought this for doesn't actually work out of the box.

I'm getting  "no devices found" and have no live sync in the app.  E.g. no BPM.

I bet it's not possible now to go back to a previous version of the app which all worked perfectly.

Admins/support?

Ok. And no thanks to Fitbit support.

For anyone on Android.  I uninstalled, and reinstalled the app.  When installing, I took time to set up the app reading everything and what I missed previously was an Android notification asking to add the Inspire as a trusted device in android's Smart Lock.  This isn't in-app and is easily missed.  Anyway, after allowing the Inspire to "unlock the phone/device" and be a trusted device, and then followed all app prompts, it looks like it's communicating ok and I'm getting live BPM now.  Just going to try auto exercise now and will report back.  Thought some of you might want to give this a go.

Ok. Auto recognise activity is working now.

Not happy having the inspire hd unlock my phone when nearby.

Admins. Does this setting have to be on for the Fitbit to sync and auto recognise?

Right.  All sorts of issues with the app.  Screens not refreshing, blank screens, no data, etc..

Forget trying the smart lock mentioned before - that's not a fix for it.

And still no auto tracking.

18 days since my initial post and still no  response from Fitbit. Still not automatically tracking exercise. Is a fix coming. Like at all??🙄

For others on this post.  I eventually got fed up waiting for Fitbit support.  So I returned my inspire HR to the reseller/shop  and they gave me a new replacement.

3 days in and I can report I have no problems.  Syncing and auto tracking are working perfectly.

My Amazon return window is around the corner so I guess I'll just do the same. Thanks.

Just wanted to chime in that my replacement tracker actually tracks my exercise and felt a lot easier to connect than the original one I had. Guess my first one was a dud. Glad I was still within 30 day return window.

OMG.

I thought all was ok until I upgraded to 3.6.1 a day ago.

Now I get "device not found" in the app all the time.

Jeeeeeeesssss!
