I have had several Fitbit devices (they seem to go wrong yearly?!). My latest HR Inspire does't track walking as an exercise even though I've set it to recognise a walk of 15+ mins. I see in the Community chats that i'm not the only one to have this problem but I can't see a solution being given? Does anyone know how to get the HR Inspire to recognise Walking as an activity? Interestingly none of my preferred activities fit into the Inspire's pre-determined Exercise List (i.e. 'Run, Bike, Swim Treadmill, Weights, Interval Training) so none of my walking, resistance workouts, yoga and pilates are recognised? So Fitbit what good is an HR Inspire to me?

@HelenHS Thanks for stopping by!
Let me help you with your Inspire HR not detecting your walks. Your device detects activities based on the motion on your arm. The automatic detection is a feature called SmartTrack. For example when using the elliptical machine make sure you have the moving bars so your device detects the motion and records the activity itself, once an Elliptical activity is saved on your account it should show on the Recent Exercise area. If your heart rate is high but there isn't much motion (yoga, weight lifting, etc.) then these activities will be difficult to be detected by your device. Still you can manually log your activity so you have a record on your account or use the activity mode on the device itself. Also note that you can edit the exercise list on your tracker by going to the Fitbit app, tap the top left button, then the tracker's icon and finally on Exercise Shortcuts where you can remove one activity to be able to add a different one.
Let me know how it goes.
