Hi, when I went to put my fitbit on this morning it started going crazy, constant notifications coming through and then it said that I had done 63,000 steps in the space of half an hour and I had just put it on? Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know how to fix it? I've tried rebooting the device and everything but it's still showing the same step count.

This has been happening to me too. I had mine charging till this evening and when i put it on, i magically started with over a million steps. Sometimes I get notices that Ive tracked 63K from 3 to 3:15 in the morning ...so disappointed...i want to love this tracker, but am losing confidence. I have spent an hour on a help line call, restarted my device from the app, and from the charger. Im getting to the point where I am just going to trash it...though, i love the concept of a more delicate looking tracker. Any help or insight from FitBit would be appreciated.

I hope there's a better answer than this...

It’s good to see you in the community, @Prdesignermom.
Thank you for joining the thread and sharing the details of the issue you're experiencing. I understand how you are feeling and appreciate your efforts to resolve this and contacting our Support team regarding this matter. I recommend confirming if you have MobileTrack paired to your Fitbit account. MobileTrack lets you use the Fitbit app without a Fitbit device by using your phone's sensors to track basic activity data including steps, distance, and calories burned. For more information, see How do I use Fitbit MobileTrack? MobileTrack may add extra steps and I recommend removing it from your Fitbit account if you're not using it: How do I remove a Fitbit device from my account?
You can remove the extra steps from your daily total by following the instructions in this help article: How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?
Additionally, I recommend checking if your Fitbit app is updated to the latest version as updates come with new features and bug fixes: How do I update the Fitbit app?
Hope this helps.

I came here to report the same thing, HayleyyelyaH
I was awakened by my Inspire HR vibrating early today with the "good news" that I had walked 55,000 steps ... in my sleep!! (It was 3:30 in the morning 🤔 ). Based on previous replies from Fitbit moderators here, my Android phone was sitting still on my night table, so it didn't contribute to the count.
This was the second time in one month that a false step count occurred with this device (50,000+ on Aug 10) that I have owned for just over a year now. I will see if a firmware update is needed, but I don't see how the problem would occur with the same firmware version running for the past few months unless it updated months ago and is responsible for this weird behavior since HayleyyelyaH first reported the issue in May (FYI the current firmware version is 34.20001.88.11).
