Inspire HR tracking workouts

I'm new to fitbit and have been wearing my inspire HR for almost two weeks. Beyond long walks through my neighborhood I work out at Orange Theory where heart rate is tracked meticulously. I read through a few forums to familiarize myself with common issues - am I understanding this correctly that it's normal for a fitbit to not recognize treadmill exercises? I run my heart out and arms are moving (trust me). Even more issues:

1. My hourly step challenge doesn't track that I "won the hour" unless I finish those steps in the last 10 minutes of the hour. If I walked 500 steps early in the hour and didn't move much towards the end it doesn't register that I won that hour.

2. As mentioned above, no tracking my orange theory workouts while on treadmill.  It recognizes exercise minutes but doesn't give me credit for an actual workout.

3. The only time my workouts register are when I go for a long leisurely walk.

What's up with all this?! I don't care about text messages or sleep tracking, I literally just want my workouts tracked properly.

A warm welcome to the Community @Adlongisland. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with your Inspire HR.

I appreciate the research done prior posting.

Regarding your question about Fitbit not tracking treadmill, Fitbit devices do not count the elevation gains simulated from a StairMaster, inclined treadmill, or other stationary exercise equipment. Your device uses changes in barometric pressure to detect elevation change, and therefore requires that you physically change elevation in order to properly record floors. However, you can add treadmill to your exercise shortcuts and your information will be recorded, try the following:

1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the account icon > Inspire HR tile > Exercise Shortcuts.
2. Tap the exercise you want to customize.
3. Choose the settings you want to customize, and then sync your device.

1. Your Fitbit device will vibrate and show a reminder if you haven’t met your hourly activity goal. You can learn more about it by checking this article: What are hourly activity goals?

2. Could you provide me with more details about your tracker not giving you credit for an actual workout? Is it not adding that data to your daily activity? Are you using SmartTrack to track them?

3. Fitbit devices automatically recognize and record high-movement activities—such as a walk, run, or swim—at least 15 minutes long through the SmartTrack feature. Learn more about it by checking this article: How do I track exercise and activity with my Fitbit device?
