Hello, my fitbit Inspire HR has something wrong with it. In the past whenever Im in a dark place wearing fitbit, I just have to bring it up to my face and the screen will automatically light on and show me the time. But now even in dark places, it does not automatically show me the time and I have to manually press the button to see the time. Have been using it for a few months. Please advice, thanks !

Hold in side button a few seconds; scroll down to 'Screen Wake'; tap to toggle on or off.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @AmyWojo.

Thank you for joining the thread and sharing the details of the issue with your device. I appreciate your efforts and recommend trying the following:

  1. Restart the device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  2. Adjust the screen wake setting by following the instructions in How do I adjust screen wake settings?

Additionally, I recommend checking if your Fitbit app is updated to the latest version as updates come with new features and bug fixes: How do I update the Fitbit app?

Hope this helps!
