Inspire steps disappeared

I went for a long hike today, and reached 18,000 steps, I remember the 10,000 step mark part way round. When I got home to sync, I saw 18,000 steps on the dashboard and on the Inspire face itself, and there is a 3 hour hike activity logged in exercise. However, shortly after syncing the step count on both the Inspire and my dashboard reduced to 6,000. The activity is still there in exercise so the data is there but why has the Fitbit decided to remove 12,000 steps?

Hi @SevyChan, welcome to our Fitbit Community. I totally understand how you feel about the reduced amount of steps that your Dashboard shows after syncing your Fitbit Inspire.

Please restart your Inspire as described in this help article. After this, make sure that your phone has the most recent Fitbit app version installed. If the app is up to date, log out of the app, restart your phone, open the app and log in.

Finally, monitor your Fitbit Inspire during the next 24 hours and see if it doesn't lose steps anymore.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Hi, thanks for responding.

I restarted my Fitbit and my phone the other night in case it was just a glitch. The software on both appear to be up to date. It was strange, I could see the step total and then it disappeared. The exercise activity is still logged for the full time I was out and the full distance, but with a tiny step count.

No further issues in the last 2 days.

Thanks,

Jacqui

Hi @SevyChan, I believe that there was a little glitch too and I'm sorry for this. However, I'm glad to hear that your Inspire HR is working properly now. Don't hesitate to get back if you see anything unusual and I'll be happy to help you.

See you around! 😀
