Does the battery need periodic replacement?

The battery is not replaceable but is rechargeable 😊

It is helpful to periodically clean the contacts on the back of the device and the pins on the charging cable.  Attached are the suggestions for cleaning https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2005?c=Topics%3ABattery&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1
