Missing Active Minutes

I'm having an issue with my Inspire HR.  Everything was going great until ~ a week ago.  All of a sudden, my Inspire basically stopped tracking Active Minutes all together.  While it is occasionally auto recognizing exercises, nothing is showing up on Active Minutes.

For example: from December 1 through December 17, I averaged about 44 active minutes per day.  From the 18th through today it is only showing 28 minutes combined, and 6 of those days show none at all.

Is anyone else having this problem? It's not the end of the world, but it's not working as it should either.

Thanks for ANY help I can get!

Thanks for popping by the forums @RunningLowOnPat! Thanks for sharing all those details with us. Sorry to hear that your new Inspire HR is giving you a hard time.

That's odd! If you're doing activities in the same way, basically same intensity and duration, your Active Minutes shouldn't vary a lot. Check this information in regards of Active Minutes are gain and follow these steps:

  1. Force quit the App and turn off your phone
  2. Open Fitbit App, go to Account (upper right corner) > Delete Fitbit tracker from the Account
  3. Open the Bluetooth Setting on your phone and delete Fitbit Inspire HR from there too
  4. Reboot Bluetooth to make sure your Fitbit is not there
  5. Restart your tracker  a couple of times and Access back to Fitbit App > Account to set up your Fitbit tracker back

Also I would recommend checking the information for previous activities during different days, to see exactly what are the activities that are giving you Active Minutes. You can go to the Fibit.com Dashboard on the computer or on the browser in your phone, click on Log > Activities > Choose the date and choose to see calories.

Your Active Minutes will be shown with the calories in high intensity level as green lines, as you can see in the picture. Moderate intensity level are shown in yellow lines.

It's been a long time, but I wanted to give you a quick update (it may or may not help with anyone else's questions).  I was able to fix the problem.  Here's how:

I was reading about the activity tracker and realized that it will not report your "active minutes" the same way you might normally think.  Instead, it records a 'metabolic equivalent.  Example: Let's say I jogged in place for 15 minutes.  At 6feet tall and 215 pounds, that would definitely get my heart rate up.  However, if I were a 5'8", 125lb. ultra-marathon champion, it would likely be about the same as a vigorous sneeze.

At around the time I said my activity stopped counting, without realizing it was being used for something like activity recording, I decided I didn't care to have my weight show up on my tracker.  I couldn't delete it, so instead I set it to either 0 or 1 pound.  Walking for 45 minutes would take almost no effort for a 1 pound person, so it recorded nothing at all.  All I had to do to fix it was enter my weight back in.  I feel foolish, but I did learn something new about my Fitbit from it.

Stay safe and stay happy!
