Hello to the community!
i have a question concerning linking several devices to one Fitbit account. I know it’s been possible to use several fitbits on one account (for daily use and workouts). With Versa and Charge 3 it changed coz they seem to have too similar OS. I was exited therefore to see a new slim tracker - Inspire - but when I chose to set up a new device the app only gave me the option to switch from Versa to Inspire 😞. So does it mean these two are not compatible or does Fitbit still plan at some point to allow the use of both?

CArundl, thanks for sharing FitBit’s response. Must you then manually calculate your steps for each watch to figure out what your actual daily stats are; since the numbers aren’t synching?

i really don’t understand why they can’t allow it. I have them both linked to one account and it works great, also with the notifications - no problems. It would just make life easier and a bit happier

The numbers sync on each phone so what I have to do is add the number of
steps on my Ionic (which I use at the gym) to the number of steps on my
Inspire HR together to get a total number of steps. Big pain in the butt!

Matt -- what's is the verdict on this? I upgraded from an Alta to an Inspire but I will take it back if I can't pair it with the Versa on my account. I don't even understand why Fitbit wouldn't allow that...

How were you able to set up both devices? I do not seem to be able to do so. Thanks!

So this post pretty much names everything that is being sold on the Fitbit website. You can't have any of them together on the same account? So when my flex 2 and my ulta die I guess I'm stuck with one device. LOL Seems like they don't care if they make any money.

I consulted with FITBIT CHAT PRIOR to getting the inspire hr to add with our versa to our account they didn't tell me I couldn't use them both as prior I had blaze, charge 2 versa and my husband had his fitbit one also set up on his account, he can't wear his versa at work and his fitbit one is not working all the time so when I saw the inspire that you could put in your pocket I purchased them however before even telling him I thought I would connect mine and see how it works he is not tech savy and I didn't want to add to computer phone confusion for him. I suppose he could wear the inspire hd in his pocket to track his steps while at work then if it didn't hurt I could switch the app to the versa but its gonna be a pain in the butt, I don't want to keep switching them if its gonna hurt the device they are not cheap thanks for anyones help

Hi, @kimav , it is definitely a nuisance, and Fitbit is working on a fix for this, but just to confirm, it will absolutely do no harm AT ALL to either device to switch them in and out on the account. So please rest assured on that score.

Well this is disappointing. I just bought the Inspire because I saw it had a clip accessory and someone stole my One from my towel at the beach this past weekend. Just tried to add it and it made me switch from my Charge 3 to the Inspire and won't let me have both like I was able to do with my One. Ugh. I really like having a clip one because I feel like it is more accurate with steps whereas the smart watches add steps for random hand gestures that are not steps.

I returned my Aspire and went back to Alta HR. Fitbit simply needs to do better.

NDW21, totally agree with you. My favorite Versa hardly ever gets used [except special occasions]. I got an Alta and Charge 3 which can be tracked at the same time with no problem. When using Versa, gotta take 10 minutes to switch from my Charge 3. Spent more than ever should, but won’t purchase another till this is resolved.

Thanks for calling this out. It was my understanding that Inspire would not be able to pair with Ionic, Charge 3 or Versa. I have forwarded this feedback to our product team and hope to have some clarification soon.
I will let you all know once I hear back from them. Thanks again!
Please solve this soon as it makes the Inspire HR useless for those who want to use it as a daily fitness tracker of pulse and heart rate in parallel with e.g. Ionic as to be used during Exersices.,,

Well, isn't this disappointing. Had no idea I couldn't have the Versa and Inspire on same account and now own both! I guess I can just take on/off account as I wish to change back and forth. I really wish this was more prominent in descriptions. I have had the One, Alta, Charge HR, Flex2 and now Versa all on account and now cannot add the Inspire. Yes, I have a fitbit addiction.

I don't think there's a way round this problem. Fitbit say:
"Note that you can't have Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, and Fitbit Versa series connected to the same account. If you have any combination of these devices, be sure to have only one connected to your account at a time."
this is taken from the help file https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1715/ - I agree that they could do more to make this point clear to prospective buyers. There doesn't seem to be any mention of it on their online store either.
I hope you don't have any issues getting a refund from the retailer.
I fully agree. If Fitbit does not solve this problem and it will hit their sales. I will return my Inspire HR and will be looking for alternatives to Fitbit

Funny you mention the Alta because I too have an Alta and it was on same account with the Versa no problems. The Inspire is truly just the Alta but waterproof, as far as I can tell. I don't really feel the Inspire is a "smartwatch" but what do I know! My versa took on water and I bought this to be a back up waterproof (I also do have the flex2 but I like being able to see the time)..I will use the Versa full time and the Inspire as a back up since the price point on the Inspire is pretty good!

I posted my original message in March, and it's still true for me today. I'd love to be able to change the look of the watch easily from sport to dress wear without losing functionality and the hassle of removing one model from my account to connect the other.

@SueDAP , yes, I totally agree! I believe it was mentioned earlier that the Fitbit developers were working on this functionality, because it would be great to be able to switch between, for example, the Versa or the Charge 3 and the smaller Inspire HR (looks quite dessy with the rose gold metal mesh bracelet).
