My FitBit Inspire HR won't sync

I got the above product from a wellness program and successfully set it up.  I just got back from a weekend away and have tried continuously to sync the thing with my Windows 10 laptop and nothing I do seems to help.  I've done all the restarting stuff, the device has only ever been paired with this laptop, it's at full charge, I have no other fitbits, and everything is up to date yet I was only able to sync my fitbit the first time I set it up and so far that is it.  I've done ALL the generic steps you can find and nothing works.  I'm thinking the issue is with it as my laptop now can't find it and I get an error in the fitbit app saying that windows cannot connect to my tracker and even sometimes getting a pop up box saying that "bonding failed, restart the app, bonding in progress".  I think I should be sent the dongle if the device is not good enough to sync without it.

Let me help you with your Inspire HR not syncing and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Start by uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app on your computer. Also have you tried using a phone to sync your tracker? You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Well I already tried the reinstalling the app thing before making the post and I wasn't wanting to have something on a phone that is being loaned to me but the phone is the only thing the fitbit would sync to.  Hopefully future products will utilize better methods of communicating with computers since some people would rather use a computer than a phone.
