Notification service not running

Like many others I get the "Notification service not running" message in the FitBit app when trying to set up notifications on my tracker. It's a new Inspire HR, firmware updated a couple of days ago, and the app was downloaded the same day, so it should be the latest version. My phone is a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, running MIUI 11.0.3 / Android 9. The phone isn't on the compatible device list, but everything else on the app works fine, just not notifications.

Thank you for the information that you've provided on your post. I really appreciate all the steps that you've tried in order to fix the issues with your Fitbit notifications. Our team is aware of this situation and they're working to bring a solution to all our Android users. Your feedback will not be taken for granted. 

You did a great job checking the compatibility information of your phone model. I'd like to mention that other users have reported good results after trying the steps suggested here: Why are notifications delayed or missing?

Thanks for your reply. The steps you provided didn't resolve the problem, but I appreciate the response and the fact that FitBit is working on the issue.

Thanks for getting back to me @mifune. We really appreciate the time you're taking to report this. These types of issues are very unpredictable, sometimes the solution is very simple but in some other cases we need to wait for the next update to give it a try. Hopefully, it will get resolve soon!
