  • On the Fitbit inspire and inspire hr, it says that just the inspire hr can read heart rate. Well I’m wondering, can it tell when the person wearing the watch has died? And if so, how long does it take to tell if the wearer has died? Is it delayed?

Hi @RengSayeed03 the Fitbit would have to be syncing activity to the Fitbit user's account, which it does every twenty minutes or so, if there is anything (steps, active zone minutes) to upload. Unless you have the log in information to get into that user's account, you wouldn't have that information. It would also depend in the person was actually wearing their device, which not everyone does 24/7. If you're planning on using the Inspire HR for a medical device, this probably isn't a good idea. Not really sure what it is you want.

I’m wondering that if somebody died while wearing the Fitbit Inspire HR if it would show when they died and if it was accurate or took a while to show that. I have been looking at a homicide investigation of Susan Ledyard and it seems like this is what happened but I really need to know if the Fitbit Inspire HR is accurate on the time someone’s heart stopped beating or if it takes a while to show it because on other Fitbit watches I know that it has shown somebody is still alive even after they have died. That is what I am asking.

@RengSayeed03  I would think this is something for the Delaware State Police to ask Google, the company that owns Fitbit. This isn't something that would be answered on the community forums, as we're just people who use their devices. We simply don't have information that would help.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @RengSayeed03. Thank you for sharing your questions regarding HR tracking.

This is a board that helps Fitbit users with their devices queries. I understand your questions but I will close this thread since your question is a little off topic.

Thank you for the heads up and for the advise @Odyssey13.

Have a nice day.
